Free preview · Module 1 of 18 — the full module walkthrough

This is the real module — the same Understand, Try, Build, and Save phases paid learners work through, not a summary. What stays paid: the live AI labs, saving your work to the Foundation Packet, and the credential (~3 hours total · 10–12 min per module · self-paced).

Module 01 · Separate useful AI help from work that still needs banker judgment.

What AI Can and Cannot Do

Phase 1 · Understand

The concept, exactly as the course teaches it.

Start with this

AI can draft, summarize, classify, and structure work. It cannot know your bank policy, verify truth by itself, or own a regulated decision.

Guardrail
Use AI as drafting support. Do not treat output as a fact source, policy authority, or decision-maker.
Model
Draft -> Check -> Decide -> Own
ExampleWeak vs. better

Weak version: AI can answer policy questions and decide what to do.

Better version: AI can draft a policy summary, but a banker verifies the source and owns the action.

AI as support, not authorityOpen

The safest foundation-level habit is to ask what the tool is doing: drafting words, organizing inputs, checking a source, or influencing a decision. The closer the task gets to a customer, control, report, or regulated decision, the more review and approval it needs.

Banking connection: Regulators focus on accountable use, validation, documentation, and human oversight when AI affects banking outcomes. Keep the work low-risk, source-grounded, and reviewed by a human before it affects a customer, control, report, or decision.

Try: Pick one task from your week and write what AI may do and what the human must still decide.

Phase 2 · Try

The practice task, and a real check you can take now.

The task

Sort six common banking tasks into draft support, source-check required, or do not use AI.

The model you practice

Draft → Check → Decide → Own

Phase 3 · Build

Weak vs. better — the quality bar you build against.

Weak version

AI can answer policy questions and decide what to do.

Better version

AI can draft a policy summary, but a banker verifies the source and owns the action.

Why the better version works: The strong version separates drafting from authority and keeps accountability with the banker.

Phase 4 · Save

What you keep from this module.

AI Limits Card

AI Limits Card - Separate useful AI help from work that still needs banker judgment.

Where it earns its keep: Use this card before opening an AI tool for unfamiliar work. In the paid course this saves into your 18-piece Foundation Packet with review evidence attached.

The other 17 modules add the labs, saved artifacts, and the credential.

Every module ends with a reviewed work product saved to your Foundation Packet. ~3 hours total · 10–12 min per module · self-paced.
